18 Chait, Kathmandu. The youth of Mugu district have drawn the attention of Information and Communication Technology Minister Bikram Timalsina saying that effective internet and mobile services are still not available in the remote areas.

They have drawn the attention of the government through the Minister of Communication that this topic is not even included in the work list under the government’s 100-point government reforms.

The Mughal youth team led by Ashish Devkota met with the Communications Minister Timalsina and presented the actual situation of the district, geographical problems and solutions along with suggestions.

According to the data presented by them, only 12 of the 24 telecom towers in Mugu district are operating 4G service, while the remaining locations still have 2G or weak network.

Out of 45 wards, only about 30 wards have limited coverage and effective internet access is said to be less than 5 percent.

The youth have drawn the government’s attention to the fact that in the district with a population of more than 64 thousand, the number of internet users is very low and many citizens are still deprived of digital services.
