18 Chait, Kathmandu. UML Deputy General Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai has objected to the method of choosing the leader of the parliamentary party. He mentioned that this style has made the party line even more worried.

Vice President Ram Bahadur Thapa was elected as the leader of the UML parliamentary party on Wednesday. MP Suhang Nembang, who was elected as the leader of the parliamentary party, had aspirations. But Thapa was unopposed after the internal maneuvering of the leaders so that he did not even get proponents and supporters. Pointing to the same incident, Bhattarai objected to this process.

Bhattarai said, “In the current situation where the party has suffered a serious blow from the election, there is widespread public complaint against the party and its leadership, the party president himself has been arrested and our movement is facing multifaceted adversity, the way and style adopted to elect the leader of the parliamentary party of CPN UML today has made the entire party even more worried, at a time when we need to build strong unity through a comprehensive reorganization of the CPN UML. Instead of reaching a high-level agreement, what was done by putting pressure on the parliamentarians was not good.’
