18 Chait, Kathmandu. CPN-UML youth leader Suhang Nemwang has asked the leaders not to interpret his candidacy in the parliamentary party as a rebellion.

After Ram Bahadur Thapa was elected as the leader of the parliamentary party, while giving a congratulatory speech, Suhang said that he will always respect the senior leaders.

I am fully aware of the glorious values, beliefs and traditions of my party. I always have high respect for senior leaders,’ Nemwang had said, ‘I want to make it clear here, my candidacy is not a rebellion. This is the demand of the time and my sense of duty towards the movement. It is also my responsibility towards the party and the movement.’

He argued that his candidacy was necessary to eradicate the frustrations of the youth generation within the party and to revive the movement.

I always appreciate the contribution of pioneers. But in order to end this disappointment and frustration within the party, I had to dare to drink poison,’ said a member of parliament, quoting Suhang’s words.

He also urged them not to be seen as forgetting the values, beliefs and traditions of the party by running for the party leader despite being elders.

‘I have understood the practices, values ​​and beliefs of the party very well. There is deep respect for those values, beliefs and practices,’ said Suhang, ‘but the main thing is the future of the party. It is also the future of the movement. This is my effort for that.’
