18 Chait, Kathmandu. Doctors have prepared to discharge former Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister and Congress leader Deepak Khadka on Thursday.

After being arrested by the police last Sunday, he was admitted to the University Teaching Hospital because of health problems. According to Kali Prasad Rosyara, information officer of the hospital, Khadka was admitted for further treatment after vomiting and diarrhoea.

‘Vomiting had stopped since yesterday morning. Diarrhea has also stopped since the night,’ Rosyara told Online News.

The Money Laundering Investigation Department made an arrest on Sunday regarding the amount recovered from the Khadka house of Genji movement on August 24th. On Sunday, the court has already allowed him to be detained for 7 days for investigation.

But at night the police took him to Narvik Hospital in Thapathali due to high blood pressure and diarrhoea. As there were no beds, the hospital referred to the university teaching at 3 o’clock on Sunday night. Khadka is being treated at bed number 1029.

UML President and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is also undergoing treatment at the teaching hospital. According to Rosyara, a culture was done yesterday (Tuesday) after an infection was found in the urine. He said that the report will come only tomorrow and only after that a decision can be taken.

On Oli’s X-ray on Saturday, a stone was seen in Oli’s gall bladder. However, doctors say that there is no immediate need for surgery in the current situation.

The team of gastro surgeons also suggested that considering Oli’s health condition, it might be risky to operate now.

But Oli has expressed his desire to undergo surgery as soon as he is admitted.

“A decision can be made whether to discharge or not by looking at the urinary infection,” Rosyara said, “but he has asked for a gallbladder operation when he was admitted.”

It is understood that the doctor did not take the risk to operate due to the fact that he had undergone two kidney transplants, was very old and had heart disease. Rosyara says, ‘Due to multiple health problems, the doctors have said that the operation is risky.’

Oli was the Prime Minister during the Genji movement on August 23 and 24. The commission headed by former judge Gauri Bahadur Karki, which was formed to investigate this incident, recommended that Oli be investigated for a crime related to life, pointing out that Oli is guilty.

Based on the report, the government arrested Oli on Saturday morning. The district court in Kathmandu has given five days in custody.

After the arrest, the police took him to the University Teaching Hospital for medical examination. Some preliminary tests were done in the emergency room. At that time, Oli said that he had a heart beat problem.

After that, the doctor admitted the bed number 501 of ‘Annex-1’ for further examination.

On Sunday, a ‘Holter monitor’ was placed on Oli’s body to check for heart rhythm problems. In the report, the doctor said that the heartbeat was also normal.
