19 Chait, Kathmandu. In the period of 8 months from July to mid-February of the current financial year, remittances of 14 trillion 49 billion rupees have been received.

According to the 8-month financial statement released by Nepal Rastra Bank, this remittance is 37.7 percent more than the same period of the previous financial year. According to the National Bank, remittances of 1 trillion 88 billion rupees have been received in the month of February of the current financial year alone.

In February of last year, 1 trillion 51 billion remittances were received. Due to the tension in the Gulf countries, remittances are expected to be affected by a high rate in February, but the data is normal.

In the first 8 months of the current financial year, the remittance inflow in US dollars has increased by 31 percent. From July to the middle of February, remittances equal to 10 billion 150 million US dollars have been received.

In 8 months, the number of Nepalis who took the final work permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment is 273 thousand 536 and the number of those who took work permit again is 251 thousand 985. In the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 3 lakh 17 thousand 68 and 2 lakh 17 thousand 403 respectively.
