Similarly, the price of a large egg which was selling at 435 rupees has increased to 450 rupees, while the price of a medium egg which is 385 rupees has been fixed at 400 rupees.

According to Union Secretary Madan Pokhrel, the prices had to be adjusted to keep the market stable and protect the increasing production costs of the farmers as per the continuous discussion with the farmers and the decision of the working committee.

This price, which is determined based on Chitwan, is the purchase price from the farm. In the notification issued by the association, it has been clarified that when eggs are delivered from Chitwan to depots in other cities of the country, an additional 145 rupees will be charged for the cost of rent, cartons and crates.
