27 Chait, Kathmandu. The government is now going to take action if reserved seats are not made mandatory in public vehicles.
The Department of Transportation has given this warning by issuing a notification on Friday. In passenger vehicles, four seats are reserved for disabled persons and two seats are reserved for women.
The department has warned of action as it has been found that such seats are not mandatory for long and short distance vehicles. The department has also made it clear that in the case of vehicles operating on long routes, seats should be reserved at least four hours before departure to the destination.
The department also reminded about the same issue while increasing the fare of public vehicles.
