22 Chait, Pyuthan. A fire broke out in the settlement of Airavati rural municipality-1 Chhedagha. According to the police, the fire started from the thatched shed of the local Laxman Ran and spread to the settlement.

A team of 30 people from area police office Bijuwar and police station Dangwang along with chief DSP Narahari officer of the district police office was deployed to control the fire.

Police inspector Hari Bhattarai informed that the fire which started at 12:30 on Saturday night was brought under control only at 7:00 in the morning with the help of Nepali army, armed forces and locals.

The houses of 13 families of the settlement were not destroyed by the fire. According to the police, the damage from the fire is estimated to be around 1 crore.
