March 28, Barcelona. The five-day spiritual festival organized for the first time in the history of Spain has been grandly completed. Nepali community from different cities of Spain participated in the festival held in Barcelona from April 5th to 9th.
The festival organized by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Spain was organized with the long-term goal of building ‘Nepal Ghar’. More than 300,000 euros were collected through the event, according to the organizers.
According to Santosh Shrestha, president of NRNA Spain, so far, nearly one million euros have been collected through banks and cash, and the remaining amount of more than two million euros is in the form of pledges. Construction of ‘Nepal House’ in Spain is a very necessary project. I am confident that the Nepali people here will fulfill their commitment,’ he told Online Khabar.
Thousands of devotees participated throughout the festival period. Organizers say that the program was successful in spreading the message of spiritual energy and cultural unity amidst the busy expatriate life.
Vachan Pandit Deenbandhu Pokharel said that among the programs organized in the migration, the festival of Spain is historic, unique and very exciting. According to him, this Mahayagya has been completed with more success than expected from all dimensions. It can be considered as one of the most successful Mahayagyas in the history of Europe. The presence of thousands of devotees and the devotion and energy shown in them was unforgettable, he said.
He mentioned that the collection of more than 300,000 Euros from this grand ceremony organized with the aim of building ‘Nepal Ghar’ is an example of the unity and commitment of the Nepalese diaspora. In addition, he expressed his gratitude to the organizer NRNA Spain, various organizations, the Spanish Nepali community and all the helpers and congratulated and wished everyone who played a role in making the event a success.
In the spiritual festival, Balkrishna Tiwari, a businessman from Majorca, Spain, has announced the biggest amount by pledging 15 thousand 555 Euros.
