The Federal Parliament Secretariat has stated that there is no restriction on the entry of Parliamentarian Ravi Lamichhane, who is also the chairman of the National Independent Party.

Lamichhane was elected from Chitwan 2 in the House of Representatives election on February 21.

A case related to money laundering is pending against him in the Kaski District Court.

Lamichhane was suspended by the then speaker Devraj Ghimire after a money laundering case was filed in the previous House of Representatives.

“No letter has come from the public prosecutor’s office in the Parliament Secretariat”, Padmaprasad Pandey, Secretary General of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, told Satopati, “He has no reason to participate in the Parliament meeting.”

On January 8, 2081, the then Speaker Ghimire suspended Lamichhane based on Section 27 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2064.

“If any officer or employee of an organized organization established in accordance with prevailing laws or any national servant is detained in accordance with this Act, such employee, officer or national servant shall be deemed to be automatically suspended for the entire period of such detention and until the case is filed against him in accordance with Section 22,” said in Section 27 of Asset Laundering.

Lamichhane has been asked for a sum of 2789 million 44 thousand 705 crores in asset laundering along with cooperative fraud. Lamichhane has a claim in the Kaski District Court on behalf of the government lawyer for a total of more than 307.1 million in cooperative fraud and money laundering.

Immediately after the filing of the case, the District Public Prosecutor’s office sent a letter to the secretariat stating that the case was filed against Lamichhane.

According to the Parliament Secretariat, the top leaders of major parties are scheduled to address today’s meeting. National Independent Party president Ravi Lamichhane is also likely to address the meeting today.
