Vishal Yadav of Rohini rural municipality 2 Khurhuria of Rupandehi is among the injured. Yadav, who was injured by a bullet in his left leg, is being treated at Bhim Hospital Bhairahawa.
According to DSP Krishna Kumar Chand, Information Officer of District Police Office Rupandehi, based on information about drug trafficking in Rohini rural municipality 4, Kothwa, three riders stopped a motorcycle number UP 56 F 9901 and tried to check it.
DSP Chand said that when the fallen youths were being taken into custody, after stones were thrown, two rounds of bullets were fired along with one round of air fire and three people were arrested with drugs.
Police shot and arrested Vishal Yadav, 18-year-old Arun Kumar and 20-year-old Vinay Pandey of Parsamlik village Bisunpuruwa, Maharajganj, India, along with drugs, DSP Chand informed.
According to DSP Chand, when the motorcycle used by the arrested persons was checked, drugs Pheneragon 1100 ampoules, Diazepam 1100 ampoules and Brufin 1100 ampoules were recovered.
District Police Office Rupandehi has informed that further investigation is going on regarding the incident.
The police also arrested two Indian citizens from Gaushala-Pinglasthan area of Kathmandu on suspicion of drug dealing.
