25 Chaitra, Saptari. Office of the Comptroller of Finance and Accounts (Kolenica) Saptari has shown proactivity for the protection of its owned land.
A formal letter has been sent to the Rajbiraj municipality to immediately remove the structures built by people encroaching on the government land in the main market of Rajbiraj.
According to Treasury and Accounts Controller Office, Saptari, Rajviraj Municipality Ward no. 6 (former Ward No. 7) of plot No. 90 of 6 katta 6 dhur land, 2 katta 14 dhur land has been encroached upon. It has been found that the municipality has passed a house map in the name of a person named Jagdish Jha in the year 2054.
According to the land registry and surveyor’s office, although the land is fully owned by Kolenica, the municipality through the decision of 2054/11/11 (Ch. No. 1493) plot no. It is revealed that the house map has been passed by mentioning 15.
After the private structure was built on the government land, the investigation was started by correspondence from the then ‘Royal Commission for Control of Corruption’ and the current ‘Abuse of Power Investigation Commission’.
In this regard, a meeting of the concerned parties held under the coordination of the Chief District Officer on 22 November 2082 decided to remove the encroached houses.
Manoj Kumar Sunuwar, chief fund controller of Saptari, informed that Kolenica has written a letter to Rajviraj Municipality requesting to make necessary arrangements to protect the government property and remove the encroached structure for the implementation of the same decision.
