24 March, Kathmandu. The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club has entered the finals of the Himalayan Java National Basketball League (HJNBL) 2026. Army reached the final with a thrilling win over Goldengate.

Army defeated Goldengate 90-71 in the first qualifier match at Dasharath Stadium Covered Hall in Tripureshwar and reached the final.

Army has managed to maintain its dominance by winning all three matches played against Goldengate this season. Earlier, Army defeated Goldengate in both matches in the league stage.

The Army, which was behind until the first quarter, won with a brilliant performance in the fourth quarter. Goldengate led 25-17 in the first quarter.

After the second quarter was tied at 13-13, Goldengate took a 38-30 lead at halftime. Goldengate led 62-51 before the last quarter with a 24-21 lead in the third quarter.

But Army performed well in the fourth quarter and won the game 80-71 by 29-9 in their favor. Army captain Vinod Maharjan was declared man of the match.

Goldengate will get another chance to reach the finals when Army secures a place in the finals on Saturday.

Goldengate will now play the second qualifier against the winner of the eliminator between Times and KVC Hounds.
