Kathmandu. The South Korean Embassy has said that the success of K-pop artist ‘Hara’ of Nepali origin will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

According to the embassy, ​​Hara, who was born and raised in Nepal, formally debuted in K-pop in December 2025 through the seven-member multinational K-pop girl group ‘MEPC’. He is also the first idol to enter the K-pop field from Nepal. The embassy considers his success as an important chapter in the expansion of Nepal-Korea cultural relations.

Born in Kailali, 22-year-old Inita Bohra is now famous by the name ‘Hara’. She studied higher secondary education in Kathmandu and had the opportunity to study in Darjeeling during her primary studies. She said that her interest in music is increasing from there.

Hara was active in hip-hop dancing. It helped him with the rhythm and presentation needed for K-pop. While she was studying electronics, communication and information engineering at the Pulchok campus, she went for K-pop auditions.

After hearing Blackpink’s song ‘Pink Venom’, she decided to audition. After that, she went through training, selection process and online voting and managed to reach South Korea.

Hara affiliated ‘MEPC’ group was formed under GBK Entertainment. All members of the group were training in Korea since March 2024. Their first album ‘First Fragment’ was released on December 8, 2025.

She said that staying in South Korea was challenging at first. He says that although there are difficulties due to the different language and cuisine, he feels comfortable because the environment gives a glimpse of Kathmandu. Hara values ​​her Nepali identity. She says, ‘Nepali music has its own identity, it is important for me to experience two different styles.’ She listens to Nepali songs despite her busy schedule.

Hara’s journey is seen as an inspiration for Nepali youth.
