After it was found that various hospitals and health institutions refused to provide health insurance services and patients were not provided with necessary facilities, the Health Insurance Board has warned that action will be taken according to the law.
After finding that some of the service provider health institutions have caused suffering to the insured beneficiaries during the service delivery under the insurance program, the board has requested them to provide the health care easily.
The board said that the health institutions should take time in advance to get the insurance services, the discriminatory behavior towards the insured and the necessary service facilities and medicines were not provided, the board said.
The board has warned not to engage in any activities contrary to the Health Insurance Act, 2074, Health Insurance Regulations, 2075 and prevailing laws.
Krishna Prasad Poudel, the executive director of the board, informed that if it is proven that any service provider health institution has acted against the rules during the monitoring, action will be taken according to the Health Insurance Act, 2074.
