If Rakhep does not rescind the said decision or if within 7 days of receipt of the letter, the said decision has no effect and ANFA does not confirm in writing by restarting its election process from the situation before the suspension imposed by Rakhep, ANFA will be submitted to the FIFA Council for immediate suspension.
22 Chait, Kathmandu. The International Football Federation (FIFA) and the Asian Football Federation (AFC) have warned that the suspension process will proceed if the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) elections are not held within 7 days. FIFA and AFC have written a joint letter to ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai on Saturday, instructing him to resume the election process and finalize it within 7 days of receiving the letter. There is a clear warning that the suspension process will be started if the election is not held on time.
“If Rakhep does not cancel the said decision or if within 7 days of receiving the letter, the said decision has no effect and ANFA does not confirm in writing by resuming its election process from the situation before the suspension imposed by Rakhep, ANFA will be submitted to the FIFA Council for immediate suspension,” the letter said.
The letter also mentions that the suspension of Rakhep has prevented ANFA from managing its affairs independently. The letter also states that if he is suspended from FIFA, he will be prohibited from participating in international competitions, access to FIFA, AFC development funds and other member associations from maintaining sports relations with ANFA.
The National Sports Council (Rakhep) suspended ANFA for 3 months on March 12, saying that the election was going to be held without approval. After the suspension, the ANFA leadership postponed the election scheduled for 13th March.
