28 March, Kathmandu. Pakistan is hosting Islamabad on Saturday by keeping the belligerent US and Iran at the negotiating table. American President Donald Trump, who had threatened to destroy the Iranian civilization, agreed to a two-week ceasefire after a new proposal by Iran mediated by Pakistan.

However, all the issues of the peace talks have not been resolved so far. Trump said through the social network Truth that he received a 10-point proposal from Iran. He called it the ‘practical basis of negotiations’.

On the other hand, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi said that the US has sent a 15-point proposal.

Trump has handed over the command to Vice President JD Vance on behalf of the US in the talks that will begin today under the mediation of Pakistan. Trump has sent his special envoy Steve Wittkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner as his assistants. Their team reached Islamabad on Saturday.

Pakistan has said that it has made strong arrangements for the security of the interlocutors and the meeting place. He has assured both sides to be calm.

What will be the result?

Trump’s top negotiators are confident of reaching an agreement. They have expressed their belief that through this negotiation, an agreement can be reached and the war can end.

Proposals from both sides have not been officially submitted yet. However, each side has already made public the proposal that they reached informally.

However, doubts are still rising in the world community. Anwar Gargash, a senior diplomatic adviser to the president of the UAE, told the BBC that many details are still unclear.

‘Contradictory statements are coming from Iran, America and Pakistan,’ Gargash said, ‘We need to establish harmony in the details of these statements and remember that what is the right way to proceed?’

It seems that four topics will be discussed in the Islamabad talks. And the world community is interested in how to reach consensus on those four issues.

Iran’s nuclear program

The US has been accusing Iran of accelerating the development of nuclear weapons. He is saying that this is the root cause of the current war.

However, Iran repeatedly denies it. According to American officials, the last 12 days of war and the attacks of the US and Israel have caused great damage to Iran’s nuclear program. The US claims that it will take a long time for Iran to restore the progress of its damaged nuclear program.

There are still many doubts about the future of the 440 kg of highly enriched uranium that Iran is said to have. It is suspected that the uranium may have been buried under the rubble of the nuclear research center in Isfahan, Iran, which was attacked by the US last year.

American Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters on Wednesday, ‘That uranium is protected by pressing it deep for 24 hours. Iran may not have any nuclear weapons, it’s over here.’

On the other hand, Iran is saying that it has the right to enrich uranium for civilian use according to the terms of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) in any future agreement, saying that it should be accepted.

Oman was mediating between the US and Iran even before the war started. He said a practical agreement was pending.

According to Iran’s demand, is the US ready to allow Iran any form of uranium enrichment? That will be the ego question of the current conversation.

In which it is said that Iran must destroy all its nuclear facilities, stop uranium enrichment on Iranian soil, take enriched uranium reserves out of its country and accept international inspection.

Iran’s Missiles and Drones

It is said that Trump’s conditions are very strict in the matter of Iran’s missiles and drones. Under those conditions, Iran should not make ballistic missiles, stop production of long-range missiles, stop providing drones and military aid to its proxies and allies in the Middle East.

During the war with the US, Iran’s advanced missile program served as a major security shield. His nuclear program could also be developed on the basis of that program.

According to the Pentagon’s claim, a large part of Iran’s security shield has now been destroyed. US Army Assistant Chief of Staff General Dan Kane claimed that 80 percent of Iran’s missile facilities had been destroyed. He claims that 80 percent of the air defense system and 90 percent of the weapons factory have also been destroyed.

In previous talks, Iran has been rejecting US proposals to limit its ballistic missile program. Now, in the changed situation, will he accept the American condition of banning the missile and drone program or not? This question will be the main interest of the current talks.

Strait of Hormuz

Hormuz State will be another important link in US-Iran talks. Until now, Iran had made it a weapon of its existence and Iran’s defense. The Strait of Hormuz, considered to be the world’s most important energy export route, is under Iran’s control.

In the ongoing crisis, Iran’s embargo on Hormuz has caused an energy crisis around the world, and prices have also risen.

According to some news, recently Iran had planned to charge up to two million US dollars per ship from Hormuz. There were reports that Iran plans to share that revenue with Oman.

On the other hand, other Gulf countries have been rejecting that plan of Iran. US President Trump has not completely rejected Iran’s move. Instead, ABC News has written that America and Iran can manage together.

Last week, Britain chaired discussions with more than 40 countries about the Strait of Hormuz. All the participants in that meeting said that the war should end.

It is estimated that one of the issues in the negotiations between the US and Iran may be about the ease and management of the Strait of Hormuz.

Lebanon tension

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the US has agreed to a ceasefire in all other areas including Lebanon.

Iran is insisting on ending hostilities on all fronts. In which he is saying that Israel’s attack on Lebanon should be stopped.

However, Israel has not yet agreed on that issue and has continued to attack Lebanon, calling it a stronghold of Hezbollah.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the cease-fire between Iran and the United States will not apply to Lebanon.
