28 March, Kathmandu. The ongoing conflict in West Asia has temporarily stopped after the US and Iran agreed to hold peace talks. Today, the negotiators of the two countries are holding peace talks in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, after the agreement reached through the mediation of Pakistan.
A delegation led by US Vice President JD Vance has reached Islamabad today for peace talks. The US negotiating team will be led by Vice President Vance. President Donald Trump has entrusted the command of the negotiations to him.
An Air Force Two plane carrying vans landed in Islamabad a few hours ago. Trump’s special envoy Steve Wittkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner are also there to help Vice President Vance.
Vance’s team was welcomed at the airport by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.
On the other hand, the speaker of the parliament Mohammad Bagar Ghalibaf will lead the talks on behalf of Iran. He has also reached Pakistan.
