18 Chait, Kathmandu. In the last one month, 127 Nepalis have been rescued from Cambodia alone. According to SSP Krishna Pangeni of the Human Trafficking Investigation Bureau of the police, 127 people have been rescued in the last one month.
According to Pangeni, 8 people were rescued and brought to Kathmandu on Wednesday. He said that one person has been arrested and detained and investigated for being taken to Cambodia and left stranded.
Only 8 cases have been filed in the past one month. The police said that they are working to convince the victim and file a complaint.
According to SSP Pangeni, it was found that they were taken to Cambodia by tricking them into doing computer work and taking them there and using them in cyber scams.
Some have been told the job of a security guard. Most of them are called computer work. After taking it there, there is a tendency to use it in cyber fraud’, SSP Pangeni told Online Khabar.
Recently, the police said that Nepali youths are taken to countries like Thailand, Myanmar, and Cambodia and used as cyber slaves.
After reaching such countries, there is a tendency to use Nepalis in cyber scams by setting up camps in places where even the government machinery cannot reach them.
