25 March, Kathmandu. Law professionals will not be able to enter Sinha Darbar on the basis of their identity cards like in previous days.
Now they also have to take a pass from the citizen app like other common people. Some lawyers are dissatisfied with this new rule.
Sarojraj Regmi, registrar of the administrative court within the Sinha Darbar complex, has issued a notice and informed that legal professionals will be allowed to enter only on the basis of the Sinha Darbar Gate Pass of the Citizen App.
According to him, the officials and employees of the administrative court will get entry on the basis of the official identity card of the relevant body, the legal practitioner on the basis of Sinhdurbar Gatepass of the citizen app, the parties or heirs of the case on the basis of the date sheet of the related party/warrior and all others will get entry on the basis of the daily e-pass of the administrative court.
Previously, legal professionals could enter all the courthouses in Nepal, including the Sinh Durbar, on the basis of an identity card issued by the Nepal Bar Council. But they have been restricted in their entry to Singha Durbar.
Some lawyers have expressed dissatisfaction with the new rules. Advocate Vinodmani Bhattarai said that the administrative court is inside the Singh Darbar, but the system of having to take a pass to reach there is not practical. He asked to reconsider the new rules.
Some friends from the legal profession have also been elected to the House of Representatives for policy making. I believe that they will take the initiative to remove this difficulty,’ said Bhattarai.
