22 Chait, Kathmandu. The work of collecting the voter list, which was postponed for the election of members of the House of Representatives, will start from today.

The Election Commission had postponed the collection of the list from 6th of November for the election of members of the House of Representatives. The commission’s meeting on March 18 decided to start the work of compiling the voter list.

Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Commission informed that the postponed program will be resumed from today. According to the Commission, arrangements have been made for Nepali citizens who have received their national identity card numbers to register their names in the electoral roll through the online system through the details of their national identity cards.

In the case of those who are not affiliated to the national identity card system, they have to fill the online form through the commission’s ‘pre-enrolment’ system. Applicants must be physically present at the provincial and district election offices with their photo and fingerprints.

Spokesman Bhattarai informed that arrangements have been made to apply online for tasks such as correcting errors in the voter list, removing duplicate names, updating details of death and migration, etc.

Correcting the name, surname, address, if there are two or more polling stations within the same ward, moving the name to the place convenient for the voters, if the details are not according to the citizenship, it can be corrected according to the citizenship. The commission has asked for active participation in the voter list collection process.
