The properties that are not found in advanced and hybrid varieties of rice are found in local varieties, and eating its rice does not make you feel hungry and also gives you a cup of coffee.
Arveni, Kanouta, Chapchaur in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality, Limgha, Aslewa, Johangkhaireni, Sahaghat, Chhami Fant in Satyavati Rural Municipality, Majuwa, Rupakot, Shantipur Chaite in Chandrakot Rural Municipality are being planted in the district. In the same way, chaite rice is planted in the areas around Badighat river including Tallaphant, Indregowda Bhuwachidi, Wamitaksar, Paudi Arewa Varmachour of Musikot Municipality, Simlatari, Phulbari, Shiladi area of Malika Rural Municipality.
Chaite paddy is planted in the areas around Chaldi and Nisti rivers including Sim, Aglung Phedi, Bhanbhane in Madane rural municipality, Panaha river and Chaldi area in Dhurkot rural municipality, Chaurasi Fant and Hulake in Ishma rural municipality.
Chaite rice is being cultivated in the areas around Garmatari, Kharjeng, Ghodahaphant, Tari Fant of Gulmidarwar Rural Municipality, Kharjyang, Manbag, Anga, Ullikhola, Boa Fant of Chhatrakot Rural Municipality, Tahatim, Ghiubesi, Chamdi, Kaligandaki of Ruru Region Rural Municipality.
In the district, 3 thousand 626 areas of the winter and summer paddy cultivation areas are under irrigation throughout the year. There is system of partial irrigation in 6 thousand 690 fields.
Due to the lack of adequate irrigation system in all places in the district, the farmers have to rely on sky water. Due to the fact that a lot of manpower has migrated to the villages, the arable land has become barren due to the lack of farms.
