18 Chait, Kathmandu. Aneraswaviyu students demonstrated demanding the resignation of CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel.

The students who left the Askal campus demonstrated demanding Pokharel’s resignation. During the demonstration, slogans were raised in favor of Suhang Nemwang. Nemwang was an aspiring leader of the UML parliamentary party.

But the youths are objecting on social media saying that the general secretary Pokharel has pressured the MPs to get Ram Bahadur Thapa elected unopposed.

Young students who are running a resignation campaign on social media staged a street demonstration on Thursday night.

They have raised slogans such as giving opportunities to the youth within the party, not taking over the party, Pokharel resigning from the post of general secretary, etc.

The protesting youths also burnt the effigy of General Secretary Pokharel in front of the party central office.
