18 Chait, Kathmandu. Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal has said that if the government makes education and health free for the families and children of the armed police, the number of people leaving their jobs will decrease.

Aryal said this to Home Minister Sudhan Gurung, who arrived on Wednesday to inspect the armed police headquarters in Swayambhu.

He said that the number of people leaving their jobs is increasing in the hope that if they can retire at 16 years of age, they can go abroad and improve their financial situation, as the salary facilities provided by the government make it difficult for the armed police at the lower level to support their families and even manage their children’s expenses.

He said that he is confident that the government will take necessary steps in this regard, as the morale of a soldier who is on duty all day long will be weak even when his financial situation is weak.

Inspector General Aryal said that the morale of the armed police personnel who have been working in the same position for 13 years is weak and emphasized that the provision in the Armed Police Regulations should be changed.

He said that if the regulations are changed and the lower level employees retire, they will be mobilized with high morale in the work area if they can become at least junior officers.

Aryal said, ‘In order to improve the efficiency of the armed police and to strengthen them in a timely manner, the special regulations of 2058 have been amended to make them competent, effective, businessmen and a clear legal arrangement has also been submitted in matters such as border security, border crime control, disaster management, internal security, etc.’
