18 Chait, Kathmandu. The statement of former Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has started. The statement of the writer has started from today in the District Public Prosecutor’s Office.
A police officer of District Police Complex Kathmandu informed that his statement has been ongoing since Tuesday afternoon.
The writer was extended by 5 days by District Court Kathmandu.
During the Genji movement on August 23 and 24, he was questioned about his actions as the then Home Minister. The commission of inquiry set up by the government to investigate the events of the Genji movement recommended the author to investigate.
Along with the writer, the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was also recommended.
Based on the recommendation, Oli and the author were arrested on Saturday morning.
