Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that Russia is benefiting from the US-Iran war. Also, if the war is prolonged, it will be very good for Russia and very bad for Ukraine.
Speaking to US online Axius, Zelensky pointed out that Russia’s oil-dependent economy is getting a big boost from rising oil prices and the easing of US sanctions on Russia.
‘I’m sure Russia wants a long war. They benefit from it. US attention is focused on the Middle East and it may reduce military aid to Ukraine. Restrictions have been partially lifted. “I see only benefits for Russia as the war with Iran continues,” Zelensky added.
On the other hand, due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, it has also been said that there may be a shortage of air defense interceptors and weapons, which are much needed by Ukraine from Russian missiles.
Asked if he was worried about the ongoing war in Iran disrupting arms supplies to Ukraine, he said, ‘I’m not just worried, I’m sure we’ll face these challenges. Of course.’
He also mentioned that Russia was providing intelligence about the US to Iran.
Russia has proposed that if Ukraine stops providing intelligence information about Russia, it will also stop providing such information to Iran.
Russian Ambassador Kirill Dmitriev made such a proposal during a meeting with US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner in Miami, USA, two weeks ago.
But the US rejected Russian President Vladimir Putin’s proposal, citing two people familiar with the matter, the American online Politico wrote.
Although the US rejected the proposal, it raised concerns in European countries.
They are worried that Putin is trying to drive a wedge between the US and European countries.
Iran has also admitted that Russia is providing military support in the ongoing war with the US and Israel.
In an interview with US media ‘MS Now’ (formerly MSNBC), Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that Russia was a strategic partner for Iran during the war.
In the ongoing war, there have been reports that it seems that Iran is attacking after receiving accurate information about US military structures and recent activities. Some have commented that Russia is providing such intelligence to Iran.
US President Trump has also publicly stated that Russia may be helping Iran some time ago. He speculated that Russian President Putin may be helping Iran a little, just as the US helped Ukraine in its war with Russia.
